The Rafiki Bible Study on Ezra (3 lessons) focuses on how the faithful, unchanging Lord of heaven and earth fulfills his eternal purpose and plan, and encourages his people through bold proclamation of his Word. Nehemiah (4 lessons) touches on effective spiritual leadership of people besieged by the world, the flesh, and the devil; it requires a conscious dependence on God, being alert to the voice of direction in his Word, effective delegation, and the importance of finishing a task to display God's might before both his people and their enemies. Esther (2 lessons) shows the way God exercises his sovereign right to use unsettling means and improbable instruments to accomplish his ultimate purpose, and how God’s transforming power equips his inadequate servants to stand firm and take action against those who would destroy his eternal purpose and plan for his people. Each lesson includes notes on the text and questions for discussion written and edited by reformed theologians.
The commentaries recommended to accompany this study are Ezra and Nehemiah by Derek Thomas and Esther and Ruthby Ian Duguid, each sold separately.
